More About Me

My name is Jason and I live in Arkansas, USA. I’m a bit of a nerd on some things and enjoy most quiet activities. I’m blessed to have an extroverted wife to balance me out. Some activities I enjoy are reading, writing, motorcycles, video games, hiking, etc.

I started this blog for my three daughters, hoping that one day they can return to these letters, even after I’m gone.

Whether these letters gain the admiration of the world matters very little to me. For they are first and foremost, for my daughters. But if they reach a girl who, through loss or other circumstances, has grown up without her father, I hope they bring her some comfort and, above all, point her to the steadfast love of God the Father.

To protect my daughters’ privacy, I’ll refer to them throughout these letters as “H”, “P”, and “E.”

As any father can tell you, no two children are exactly alike. What one daughter needs to hear may not apply to another. Each has her own strengths, weaknesses, and challenges. My hope is that these letters will reflect that understanding as I share what I’ve learned and what I’m still learning.

I write from a Reformed, Presbyterian perspective, but first and foremost identify as a Christian. I affirm historic Christian creeds and the core doctrines defended by the early ecumenical councils, including the Trinity and the full deity and humanity of Jesus Christ. Since these letters may reach readers beyond my daughters, I believe it’s only fair that you know the convictions that shape my writing. Still, I hope that you’ll feel welcome to explore, even if we disagree on certain matters. You may discover that we may have more in common than you might expect. God bless.
